Workshop: Wooly Flower Basket or Wall Hanging by Vickie Clontz

Vickie Clontz will be presenting “Walk on the Wool Side” at our Guild Meeting program Monday evening, February 11. She will then be leading a workshop the following Saturday, February 16, where you will be able to create a basket or wall hanging of lovely three-dimensional flowers or create a design of your own. Vickie will provide the foundation with techniques and stitches for anyone at any level of working with wool. You will really enjoy Vickie’s creativity and dynamic personality. Please join us! Supplies: Kit fee $18.00, covers the black background and basket (for the wall hanging) or the dimensional basket along with Vickie’s “Wool Buffet” of all colors of Woolfelt: warms, cools, brights, pastels, autumns, etc. Vickie will also bring embroidery floss and beads to share.

You may bring your own felted wool, colors of your choice. For the wall hanging bring 16” square of black wool for the background and tan wool for the basket that is 7” x 11” rectangle and 1” x 36” strip for the handle. For the dimensional basket, 12” x 18” tan wool will be needed. Woven wool fabric may be felted by washing it in a washing machine with sudsy warm or hot water, rinse in cold water, and dry in dryer. Repeat if necessary.

- Embroidery floss or pearl cotton thread, needle, thimble, paper scissors, sharp small
- scissors for cutting flowers, marking tool, pencil
- Beads for embellishment
- 18” square of thin batting
- 18” square of backing material
