The North Carolina Museum of History would love to invite you to the opening of our newest exhibit! On May 4, the North Carolina Museum of History will unveil QuiltSpeak: Uncovering Women’s Voices Through Quilts. For hundreds of years, quilts have told the stories and livelihoods about the quilters who made them. Our first workshop will be held on Saturday, September 7th, from 9 am to 4 pm. Debbie Stoltz will teach us how to make a Bargello quilt (or smaller wall hanging) from the book, Twist and Turn Bargello by Eileen Wright. Lorraine Covington is again offering the National Quilting Association’s “Introduction to Quilt Judging Seminar” at her home in Clemmons. Sessions are scheduled for March, May, August and October, last two days, and include 14 hours of instruction on quilt shows, judging styles, and judging criteria. This class is for you if you want your quilt skills to increase dramatically, or if you are interested in the judging process.
