Have you always wanted to paint a BARN QUILT BLOCK but been afraid to tackle a large piece of plywood? Then this is the perfect workshop for you! Lisa Martin is a Patrick County, Virginia, native and owner of The Wormy Chestnut. Lisa was instrumental in creating the Patrick County Barn Quilt Trail and has been hosting and teaching barn quilt classes for years. Lisa will offer a BARN QUILT BLOCK workshop on Saturday, September 9th for the Piedmont Quilters’ Guild. She will give instruction on painting a 12″ x 12″ Barn Quilt Kits block. She’ll be bringing a variety of popular designs and the kits contain the stenciled barn quilt, paints, brushes, and instructions for completion. These small kits are perfect to decorate a mailbox or house sign, to frame and show off in your house, or to adorn a porch or other outdoor setting. Please bring cash or a check. The cost is $40 per person, but that includes everything – and she even brings extra cups so if someone doesn’t finish, they can take them home. People can pay her the day of the class. *** The workshop will be from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the Trotter Active Adult Center (3906 Betula St, Greensboro). The room is available from 9am to 1pm only so be sure to be there set up and ready to go at 9:30 promptly. Please contact Michelle Owens (mowens3@yahoo.com or 336-681-3295) if you would be interested in attending this workshop. You can also invite friends from other guilds or even your neighbor! |
