North Carolina Museum of History: Quilt Events
May 4, 2019 - February 15, 2020
The North Carolina Museum of History would love to invite you to the opening of our newest exhibit! On May 4, the North Carolina Museum of History will unveil QuiltSpeak: Uncovering Women’s Voices Through Quilts.
For hundreds of years, quilts have told the stories and livelihoods about the quilters who made them. This exhibit will give a voice to their stories and feature various quilts throughout history, some of which date back to the Civil War!
And, just as a reminder, the museum will be hosting a Quilt-In on June 15. The event will start at noon and end around 4:00 The Quilt-In will give your members the opportunity to mix and mingle with other quilt enthusiasts from around the state! The Quilt-In will also include raffles, demonstrations of quilt labelling and documentation by the Quilt Alliance and displays by other guilds and groups. For information on how to apply for a demonstration space, please contact Nancy Pennington.
